Newsletter – 15th July 2022
The Urgent Care Plan will enable every Londoner to have their care and support wishes digitally shared with healthcare professionals across the capital.

The countdown is on to our UCP go-live 27th July 2022! Here is some key information in preparation for the switchover from the current care plan application to our new UCP:
User Access Emails
Emails have been sent to users of the current care planning platform, with information on:
- User specific access route & how to prepare
- Training videos & additional resources
- Support arrangements
- Upcoming UCP Roadshow session
There are a small group of users for whom it has not been possible to identify their specific access route. We are investigating this as a matter of priority and anticipate Emailing this group next week. In the meantime, here is a quick guide explaining the access route options, based on the Electronic Patient Record system in use.

Web Portal Users
Users who will be accessing the UCP by our Web Portal will receive an email from the 20th July with instructions on how to activate their accounts. The email will be sent from ucp.better@nhs.net. Please keep an eye out for this communication and check your junk e-mail folder. Access to the Web Portal will be live from 27th July 2022.

UCP Events
We will be hosting the following sessions over the next 2 weeks:
UCP Valida Walkthrough Sessions. These will be held daily from 18 – 21st July. Register for guidance on:

UCP Go-Live virtual Floor Walkers
From the 27th – 29th July we will host all day live virtual drop in sessions via Teams for users to ask any questions they may have from go-live. You will be directed to break out rooms specific to your questions. Sessions will be linked on the UCP website home page from the 25th July.
Draft Care Plans
Care plans that are in draft will not be migrated from the current system to the UCP. Clinicians are encouraged to continue publishing draft care plans until 20th of July 2022.

Training videos and guides for clinical, non-clinical and urgent care users can be found on the Training page. Watch a video on how to use the Urgent Care Plan and key functionalities.
Where to access support
Please contact your organisation’s IT team in the first instance who will be able to establish if you are experiencing a local issue (e.g. connectivity). Your IT team will escalate your query to the UCP team if required.
